Huawei and its sub-brand Honor already announced the list of its devices eligible to get the latest EMUI 9.1 update back in April itself. There were 49 Huawei and Honor devices in the list without any specific timeline for the update. Today, the Chinese telecom tech has officially announced the release date of EMUI 9.1 update. The EMUI 9.1 update is still based on Android 9 Pie.
Huawei introduced EMUI 10 last week and now it's following it up with the first road map for the rollout. The Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro will be the first two devices to get the initial beta, scheduled for September 8.
The Mate 20 lineup will get it later in September along with four Honor devices that are in line for the Magic UI 3.0 (which is no more than a rebranded EMUI).
The key feature behind the new EMUI is improved protection of privacy. Other improvements that Huawei included are capabilities to send images from one device to another during a call, even including live-streaming from a drone. Here’s the full list of devices, ready for the initial EMUI 10 Beta:
- Scheduled for September 8
- Huawei Honor 20
Scheduled for late September
Scheduled for late September under the name Magic UI 3.0
The Chinese company will need some time to prepare the interface for stable launch to global units, so in all likeliness the first EMUI 10 phones on the international market will be the upcoming Mate 30 series.
